AI and Next-generation Wireless Communications Laboratory
The AI and Next-Generation Wireless Communication Laboratory (ANWCL) is a cutting-edge research laboratory within the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul, Türkiye.
ANWCL is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of artificial intelligence–enabled wireless communication systems, with a strong focus on beyond-5G and 6G technologies. The laboratory conducts both theoretical and applied research, addressing real-world challenges in modern communication networks and contributing to the development of intelligent, sustainable, and resilient communication infrastructures.
Our research activities span a broad range of topics, including but not limited to AI-driven wireless communications, next-generation mobile networks, non-terrestrial networks (NTN), internet of things (IoT), Satellite Communications, UAV-assisted communication systems, intelligent and reconfigurable surfaces, signal processing, and emerging communication paradigms. Through nationally and internationally funded projects, ANWCL actively contributes to scientific innovation and technology transfer.
The laboratory is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahen Shah, who serves as the Director of ANWCL. Under his supervision, full-time B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment. Our members are engaged in publishing high-impact scientific research, developing novel algorithms and prototypes, and participating in international conferences, projects, and collaborations.
At ANWCL, we believe that research drives progress. Our mission is to educate future engineers and researchers, foster interdisciplinary innovation, and develop technologies that contribute to the advancement of society and the global scientific community.
